Trout are stocked April and October. Catfish are stocked May through September. Bluegill and crappie are stocked once a year. Revenue generated from Hidden Lakes permit fees goes directly to stocking the wide variety of fish in the lakes.

Fishing Permits

A Hidden Lakes permit is needed to fish at Hidden Lakes. All adults age 16 and older are required to have a Hidden Lakes permit. Permits are valid from April 1 to March 31 of the following year. Revenue generated from permit fees goes directly to stocking a variety of fish into the lakes. The State of Illinois no longer requires state licenses to fish at Hidden Lakes Historic Trout Farm.
