SNAPs
SNAPs are the Stewards of Natural Areas in Parks, a volunteer group dedicated to restoring and protecting the natural areas managed by the Bolingbrook Park District. Volunteers assist the district’s staff in land management activities such as clearing brush, collecting native seed, and picking up trash in the district’s natural areas during scheduled workdays. Workdays are an excellent opportunity to fulfill service hour requirements for school, confirmation, or scouting.
SNAPs volunteers gain personal satisfaction from doing work that benefits the community while cultivating lasting friendships with others who share their concern for the environment. Volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in semi-annual education programs and an annual appreciation event.
Workdays are held on select Saturdays from 9 to 11:30 am. Other dates can be arranged for organized groups upon request. Volunteers under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult and all volunteers must have a signed waiver to participate. Tools, safety equipment and training are provided at each workday.
If you are interested in participating in SNAPs workdays or becoming a site steward, please call (630) 739-2600.
