Improve your child’s coordination, flexibility and grace by enrolling them in the Bolingbrook Park District gymnastics program. Children will learn discipline and self-confidence. Striving to reach goals and achieving them provides students with a feeling of accomplishment. The gymnastics staff provides one-on-one instruction with positive reinforcement and coaching to help students reach their full potential.
PRIVATE & SEMI PRIVATE LESSONS
Private and semi-private gymnastics/tumbling lessons are available for students currently enrolled in classes but looking for additional one-on-one instruction. Private lessons are especially effective when a student is trying to master a new skill. Private lessons are for 1/2 hour or 1 hour and must be prearranged.
1/2 hour private: $20
45 minutes private: $25
1 hour private: $30
1/2 hour semi-private (2-3 gymnasts): $40
1 hour semi-private (2-3 gymnasts): $60

PRESCHOOL GYMNASTICS
Ages 3-5 years
Run, swing, flip and roll. Kids will experience adventure in every class! Preschool and kindergartners will improve coordination, strength, flexibility, balance and build confidence all in an exciting, safe and professionally instructed environment.
- Preschool One - for beginners who have no previous experience or may have taken one or two classes.
- Preschool Two - recommended by an instructor and are for those children who have taken two or more preschool classes.
- Preschool Three - for young, talented gymnasts who have successfully completed Preschool Two but are not old enough to enroll in developmental gymnastics.
- Boys Preschool - for boys who have never taken a preschool class or are looking to better their skill and ability.
DEVELOPMENTAL GYMNASTICS
Ages 6-12 years
All children will learn skills on the traditional Olympic gymnastics events including: floor exercise, uneven/even parallel bars, vaulting and balance beam in a safe and controlled atmosphere. Children who have never taken a gymnastics class before should enroll in a Level One gymnastics class. Students who have taken gymnastics at the Park District should enroll in the class level as instructed by their coach. Children may be asked to transfer to the appropriate level class.
SKILL LEVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Level One is a basic level for children that are new to gymnastics. Good form and positions will be learned at this level. Class is commonly repeated before moving on to Level Two. Level One gymnasts will learn the following skills:
Floor: Forward and backward tuck rolls, lunge, kick to handstand, cartwheel, bridge up, splits, chases, and split jumps.
Bars: Front support, casting, pullover, swing, and forward rolls off the bars.
Beam: Walks, kicks, pivot turns, support mount, v-sit, scales, arabesques, and lunge.
Vault: Use of springboard, landing position, squat on, and proper running technique.
Level Two is a more advanced level that stresses mastering Level One skills in addition to learning the skills listed below:
Floor: Forward straddle roll, back pike roll, cartwheels, handstand, backbend to cheese mat, assemble, split leap and chases.
Bars: Pullover, glide swings, cast to horizontal, back hip circle, tap and counter swing, and sole circle dismount.
Beam: Leg swing, half turns, tuck jump, forward roll, beginning cartwheel on low beam.
Vault: Squat, heel drives, beginning handsprings on resimat.
Level Three is a more advanced level of Developmental Gymnastics that stresses mastering Level One and Level Two skills in addition to learning the new skills listed below:
Floor: Handstand forward roll, round offs, back roll with straight arms to pike, handstand to bridge, backbend, beginning back walkover, and flip flop rebound.
Bars: Backhip circle,tap and counterswing, single leg cuts, forward stride circle, cast to straddle on sole dismount.
Beam: Levering, squat turns, split jumps, cartwheel to handstand, dismount on low beam.
Vault: Arm circle, handspring on resimat.
Level Four is the most advanced level of Developmental Gymnastics that stresses mastering Level One, Level Two and Level Three skills in addition to learning the new skills listed below:
Floor: Round off flip flop, high leg back walkover, back extension to handstand, front limber, handstand forward roll.
Bars:Kip with light spot, forward stride circle, front hip circle, single leg squat through, underswing dismount.
Beam: Cartwheel, handstand, begin back walkovers, 120” leaps, half turns, handstand dismounts.
Vault: Handspring vault.
