TITLE: CHEF FOR ASHBURY'S AT BOUGHTON RIDGE (Full-time)
Bolingbrook Park District is seeking a Chef for Ashbury’s at Boughton Ridge restaurant and banquet facility.  Under the supervision of the Food and Beverage Manager, the Chef is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant and banquet kitchen, including but not limited to production of menu, staff supervision, adhering to state preparation regulations, cost control, and customer care.   Compensation: Starting range is between $38,500 and $42,000 with a competitive benefits package.  Please send resume to Jim Sawyer, Bolingbrook Park District, 335 E. TITLE: ASSISTANT FOOD AND BEVERAGE MANAGER (Full-time)
Bolingbrook Park District is seeking a dynamic team player to assist in the management and operations of Ashbury’s at Boughton Ridge Restaurant and Banquet Facility.  The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager will directly supervise, schedule and train staff, and manage the operation in absence of the Food and Beverage Manager.  This person must be highly motivated, able to work flexible hours, goal oriented, and organized individual with a strong background in a high volume full service restaurant.  This person must also have experience with POS systems and cash control.  Compensation: Starting range is between $32,000 and $37,000 and a competitive benefits package.  Please send resumes to Jim Sawyer, Bolingbrook Park District, 335 E. TITLE: PARKS MAINTENANCE MANAGER (Full-time)
Under the supervision of the Superintendent of Parks is responsible for planning, organizing and managing park maintenance.  Supervises the horticulturist, mechanic, crew leaders and grounds workers responsible for maintenance, repairs, and improvements to parks. Serves as member of the Districts’ safety committee representing the grounds division. In the absence of the Superintendent of Parks, the Parks Maintenance Manager shall serve as head of the grounds division.

QUALIFICATIONS
1.             Bachelors degree in park management, forestry, landscape design, horticulture or related field. 
2.             Minimum five year supervisory experience in landscape management and personnel management. 
3.             At least three years work experience in the following areas; forestry, athletic field maintenance, landscape maintenance and construction.
4.             Pesticide applicators licensing required.
5.             Valid State of Illinois driver’s license
6.             The ability to communicate both in written and verbal form.
7.             Personnel management experience to manage, motivate, train, and schedule grounds staff.
8.             Bilingual, English and Spanish speaking individuals are highly desirable and preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
1.             Ability to plan and schedule daily and weekly work schedules for staff.
2.             Mechanical aptitude and interest in machinery and equipment used in park maintenance.
3.             Knowledge of occupational hazard and safety precautions
4.             Thorough understanding and experience of inventory control and budgeting.
5.             Ability to comprehend blueprint details and specifications.
6.             Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of programs and Buildings and Grounds maintenance software.
7.             Ability to operate, maintain and troubleshoot equipment and vehicles used in park maintenance and construction.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
1.             Plan, organize, and supervise park maintenance and repairs performed by grounds staff. Responsible for maintaining and improving parks to meet Bolingbrook Park District standards.
2.             Prepare daily, weekly and monthly work schedules based on District’s standard of care and long range plan. Administer the work order system for parks. Ensure all work orders are completed on schedule.
3.             Responsible for purchasing materials, equipment and general services.  Plans, coordinate and supervise work with outside contractors.
4.             Prepare and administer annual budget for park maintenance.
5.             Serve as the Grounds Division representative on the District's safety committee.  Ensure compliance with safety, health and loss control policies and procedures.
6.             Recruit, interview, hire, train and evaluate parks division staff.
7.             Reviews employee work hours to verify accuracy and approves payroll.
8.             Responsible for District’s snow and ice removal program.
9.             Assists the Superintendent of Parks in developing short range and long range maintenance and improvement plans.
10.           Responsible for park quality control. Inspects grounds and work areas to eliminate deficiencies and improve park facilities.
11.           Continually evaluates the effectiveness of maintenance procedures and programs and makes changes to improve quality, efficiency and effectiveness.
12.           Responds to citizen complaints and inquiries tactfully and in a timely manner.
13.           Provide a program of continuous in-service training for staff and conducts monthly formal staff meetings.
14.           Keep the Superintendent of Parks adequately informed at all times.

Marginal functions:
1.             Responsible for upkeep, security and management of the Buildings & Grounds facility. 
2.             Keep records of park inspections, repairs, and maintenance and park development.
3.             Attend staff meetings, workshops, board meetings and other public meetings.
4.             Coordinates park improvements with the Superintendent of Parks.
5.             Conducts surveys, research, technical investigations and writes reports.
6.             Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Parks.

Walking:  while reviewing parks and facilities
Climbing:  to climb ladder to evaluate trees
Talking/Hearing:  to communicate with staff, public and vendors
Sitting:  to drive a vehicle
Reaching:  to write at desk; to retrieve files and manuals
Pulling:  to open drawers; to operate a pruning saw
Pushing:  to close drawers; to close doors
Stooping:  to retrieve files at lower levels; to look underneath equipment
Crouching:  to retrieve files at lower levels; to look underneath equipment
Seeing:  to obtain information from written material; to drive a vehicle

COGNITIVE CONSIDERATIONS
Must have the ability to read, write and organize materials.  Proficient in construction, landscape and architectural terminology.  Ability to understand basic computer programs.  Ability to plan, direct and supervise staff.  Ability to drive an automobile.  Must be able to work and relate to other people in a professional manner.  Must exhibit good safety awareness and judgment.

HOURS
Generally 6:30am - 3:30pm, Monday through Friday.  However, the Parks Maintenance Manager is required to put in the time necessary to achieve exceptional results.

TITLE:  PART TIME GYMNASTICS TEAM INSTRUCTOR
Instructor Qualifications:

Must demonstrate dependability, promptness and punctually.
Demonstrate a professional attitude when working with staff, parents and/or community contacts.
Be safety conscious.
Certification in first aid and CPR or willing to get your certification within one month of hire.
Must be 18 years old or older.
Must have at least 2 years experience coaching a competitive gymnastics team.
Must be able to work evenings.

Hours:  6-20 hrs. per week

TITLE: INCLUSION COMPANION (Part-Time)
Under the supervision of the Therapeutic Recreation Supervisor, is responsible for assisting community recreation leaders in providing recreational programs for children and adults with special needs in a safe environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Confidence in your abilities to interact with children, teens and adults with various disabilities.
2. Must demonstrate dependability, promptness and punctually.
3. Be able to work independently.
4. Demonstrate a professional attitude when working with staff, parents and/or community contacts.
5. Be safety conscious.
6. A positive attitude towards individuals with disabilities.
7. A willingness to participant fully and learn new skills.
8. An attitude of enthusiasm and commitment in providing recreation opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
9. One to three years experience in special recreation or related field.
10. Certification in first aid and CPR
11. Valid State of Illinois driver's license.
12. Must be 18 years old or older.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
1. Ability to recognize and appropriately interact with individuals with disabilities.
2. Knowledge of planning and implementing special recreation programs.
3. Working knowledge of basic computer programs.

DUTIES
1. Actively support and follow through with the community recreation provider's safety program.
2. Assist in the recreation activities for various special populations in a variety of community based programs.
3. Communicate with and contribute ideas to the co-staff. Demonstrate creativity, enthusiasm and take initiative.
4. Assist the participants with the activity and with any accommodations needed.
5. Attend programmatic meeting, in-services, as scheduled
6. Report any problems or concerns to the Therapeutic Recreation Supervisor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Talking/Hearing: To communicate with staff and participants
2. Sitting: To drive a vehicle. To position a participant.
3. Reaching: To retrieve supplies or participant.
4. Pulling: To open doors and drawers.
