Eligible residents of Bolingbrook PARK DISTRICT wishing to run in the April 6, 2021 Election for Commissioner of the Bolingbrook Park District may pick up petitions and election materials from Beth Benner, Administrative Assistant or Ron Oestreich, Executive Director at the Bolingbrook Park District, 201 Recreation Drive, Bolingbrook, IL 60440 starting Tuesday, September 22, 2020. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The first day to begin circulating petitions is Tuesday, September 22, 2020. Two commissioner positions will be elected, each with a four-year term. Petitions must be filed at the office of the Bolingbrook Park District beginning December 14, 2020 through December 21, 2020 from 9:00 am-5:00 pm. All candidates must be qualified registered voters within the Bolingbrook Park District.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Annerino Community Center will be closed November 21-January 3. If you are looking to pick up an Election Packet during this time period, packets may be picked up at the Bolingbrook Recreation & Aquatic Complex from a Customer Care Representative at the front desk.
SIMULTANEOUS FILING: In the event that two or more petitions for the same office are filed for those candidates in line at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, December 14, 2020, a lottery will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 to determine the ballot placement. The lottery will be conducted at the Annerino Community Center, 201 Recreation Drive, Bolingbrook, Illinois. Candidates and general public are invited to be present.
Petitions filed by mail and received after midnight of the first day for filing (i.e. December 14, 2020) and in the first mail delivery or pickup of that day shall be deemed filed as of 9:00 a.m. of that day. All petitions received thereafter shall be deemed filed in the order of actual receipt. However, two or more petitions filed within the last hour of the filing deadline shall be deemed filed simultaneously. Where two or more petitions are received simultaneously, the local election official or his/her designee with whom such petitions are filed shall break ties and determine the order of filing by means of a lottery.
In the event that two or more petitions for the same office are filed between 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2020 (the closing hour of the filing period for the Bolingbrook Park District Board of Commissioners), a lottery will be conducted at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 to determine ballot placement. The lottery will be conducted at the Annerino Community Center, 201 Recreation Drive, Bolingbrook, Illinois. Candidates and general public are invited to be present.
