  • Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

  • Updated May 29, 2020:

In cooperation with the State of Illinois’ Restore Illinois Plan, Bolingbrook Park District has made the appropriate changes to operations in accordance to Phase 3-Recovery. We are monitoring the progress as we move through these phases and we are prepared to adjust our operations plan as we get closer to Phase 4-Recovery.

Below are the details for specific areas of interest:

Summer Day Camp: Camp Connections Day Camp will be held starting June 22 at the Annerino Community Center and will follow the guidelines set by Phase 3-Recovery. This camp is similar to Camp Alotta Fun, but will not include the field trips and swimming at Pelican Harbor. Safety, as always, is top of mind. Campers will be placed in groups of no more than nine campers and one counselor to ensure we are following social distancing guidelines. This camp will be led by counselors with backgrounds in education, child development, or recreation.

A camp that is both safe and fun:
    • Regular cleaning and disinfection of equipment will take place throughout the day.
    • Masks will be required when social distancing is not possible.
    • A 9:1 camper-to-counselor ratio (may be smaller for younger age groups).
    • Indoor facilities available for inclement weather.
    • Campers placed with the same small group in their own dedicated space for the entire week.
    • Camp meets rain or shine.

Pelican Harbor Indoor/Outdoor Aquatic Park: Pelican Harbor is continuing with the suspension of operations. Public pool operations are not included as part of Phase 3-Recovery of the Restore Illinois Plan and, as of this date, there has been no direction or guidelines from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) concerning the safe operation of indoor or outdoor public pools this summer.

Individuals who have purchased a Pelican Pass for the 2020 season will receive a refund by June 1, 2020. The annual memberships will continue to be suspended.

Hidden Oaks Nature Center: Hidden Oaks will continue with suspended operations. The community is welcome to enjoy the trails and outdoor spaces around the center. Please continue to respect the social distancing guidelines.

Hidden Lake Historic Trout Farm: Tackle Box Bait Shop at Hidden Lakes is currently open for bait shop and Hidden Lakes fishing permit sales. Please continue to respect the social distancing guidelines by remaining six feet away from the angler next you. You can fish at Hidden Lakes Historic Trout Farm from dawn until dusk with a valid permit.

LifeStyles Fitness Center: LifeStyles will continue with suspended operations. The Phase 3-Recovery of the Restore Illinois Plan specifically states fitness operations are limited to one-on-one training and outdoor classes. The LifeStyles team will be offering some outdoor fitness opportunities during this phase. Follow bolingbrookparks.org/recreationathome for these opportunities.

Boughton Ridge Golf Course: Boughton Ridge is open for prepaid tee times only (online & phone). Foursomes are allowed with 10-minute tee time intervals. Golf carts are available for single rider, unless members of the same household.

Ashbury's at Boughton Ridge: Ashbury’s is open daily for patio seating only from 11:00 am-8:00 pm, weather permitting. Please note there will be a limited menu and seating capacity. Parties of 6 or fewer only. Call (630) 783-6602 for pick-up orders and information.

Summer Programs: The summer digital guide has been updated with programs starting the week of July 13 with proper social distancing procedures. Please note this may adjust based on how the Restore Illinois Plan progresses. To view the current Summer Program Guide, click here

Annerino Community Center and Bolingbrook Recreation & Aquatic Complex: The community centers are continuing with the suspension of operations.

Sports Fields: Sports fields are available for use but must be limited to 10 individuals. Social distancing guidelines must be followed. Groups must remain 30 feet apart. No organized games.

Skate Parks: All skate parks are open. Social distancing guidelines must be followed.

Tennis/Pickleball Courts: Courts are open for singles play only (one person on each side of the court). Doubles play is not permitted during this current phase.

Sport Courts (Basketball, Volleyball, Roller Hockey, Racquetball, Wallyball): Sport courts remain closed during this current phase.

Playgrounds: All playgrounds remain closed during this current phase.

Our team is prepared to make the appropriate changes as we get closer to Phase 4-Recovery. We will continue to keep you as informed as possible. We appreciate your patience and hope to see you soon!
