Bolingbrook Park District Playgrounds, Athletic Courts Closed Until Further Notice
    Parks and Trails Remain Open

Bolingbrook Park District playgrounds and athletic courts are closed effective immediately and will continue until further notice. This is an important step in the effort to help reduce the transmission of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Patrons witnessed using any Bolingbrook Park District playgrounds and athletic courts will be required to stop usage immediately and asked to leave the play areas.

Bolingbrook Park District trails and open green spaces can continue to be used in a safe manner that allows people to enjoy the mental and physical health benefits these spaces provide. We ask that residents follow stated guidelines regarding the use of these spaces and always actively adhere to a safe social distancing measure of at least 6ft.

Let us all do our part to use them in a way that respects each other and public health guidance. We are encouraging residents to follow Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines. More information can be found on their website, http://www.dph.illinois.gov/

We look forward to seeing all our residents when this is past us. In the meantime, please be safe, be smart, and stay healthy.

We appreciate and thank you for your patience during this challenging time.

To help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), Bolingbrook Park District has decided to cancel all programs starting at 3:00 pm and close all facilities at 6:00 pm starting Monday, March 16. This includes Ashbury's at Boughton Ridge. Facilities will remain closed until further notice. REACH After School Care is cancelled beginning Monday, March 16.

Please note that the following facilities will be open for select hours:

    • The Annerino Community Center and Bolingbrook Recreation & Aquatic Complex community rooms will open Tuesday, March 17 from 6:00 am-7:00 pm for Illinois Primary elections only.

    • The March Bolingbrook Park District board meeting will continue as scheduled on Thursday, March 19 at 6:30 pm, but will be held at the Annerino Community Center.

This schedule is fluid and may change at any time. Bolingbrook Park District will remain in constant communication with the Village of Bolingbrook, Fountaindale Public Library, and Valley View School District, as well as AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center, Bolingbrook and both the Will County and Illinois Departments of Public Health to monitor the possible spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Bolingbrook area.

It has been recommended to not attend or host large gatherings. Larger groups do pose a greater risk of either contracting or spreading the virus. According the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), individuals most at risk are older adults and people who have serious chronic medical conditions.

We are following the most current recommendations for treatment and preventing the potential spread of infection with increased cleanings throughout facilities. Rest assured that no matter the circumstances, we exercise care with cleanliness in all of our facilities and encourage proper hygiene habits.

The IDPH recommends the best way to protect against coronavirus is by taking the same everyday precautions against getting sick in general. These include:
    • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
    • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
    • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
    • Stay home when you are sick.
    • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, then dispose of the tissue in the trash.
    • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

For more information on the Coronavirus, residents can go to the Illinois Department of Public Health website, www.dph.illinois.gov, send them an email at DPH.SICK@illinois.gov, or call their hotline at 1-800-889-3931.
