  • Day Camp in Plainfield
LCSRA will be offering two camps this summer, youth and teen camp, for nine sessions. At each camp site, campers are assigned to small groups based on age and ability. The goal of camp is to help each camper improve motor skills and physical fitness, encourage the campers to interact with peers, retain skills through activities to increase attention span, fine motor, self-expression and language skills, and provide daily experiences that help each child feel successful and good about themselves. Note: there are 8 camp days at Bolingbrook Recreation & Aquatic Complex.

Camp Sessions: Camp will run Monday - Friday, June 11 - August 8, with no camp on July 4-6.

Registration: Registration for residents will be on Saturday, April 14 at the Annerino Community Center, 201 Recreation Drive, in Bolingbrook, at 7:30 am. Non-resident registration will begin April 23. All registrations must be done in person. The registration deadline is Friday, May 11, however most camps fill in the first day or week of registration. Once the maximum has been met, a wait list will be implemented based on order received.

In order for your registration to be processed, both the registration form and annual information form must be completed, along with 50% of the total camp fees. The balance is due June 1. No refunds will be given for missed days due to illness or vacation.

Medication: Campers who take medicine must bring the medication and specific instructions for administering it to the LCSRA office by May 11. Not all medications can be given out by LCSRA staff. Medication must be approved by the Therapeutic Recreation Supervisor of the camp or the Superintendent of Special Recreation before it can be given to your child at camp. All medication must be in an original container and will be held by staff.

Camp Staff: Camp staff have a college degree or experience working with people with disabilities or are studying therapeutic recreation, education or a related field.

Lunch: Campers need to bring a sack lunch and drink to camp every day, unless notified. Lunches will not be refrigerated.

Field Trips: Field trips and in-house field trips/special guests will be taken throughout camp. On swim days, please pack a swimsuit, towel and sunscreen.

  • All Camps are Monday-Friday and will be held at Lincoln Elementary School (14740 Meadow Ln, Plainfield) and the Bolingbrook Recreation & Aquatic Complex (200 S. Lindsey Ln, Bolingbrook)

    NOTE: No Class July 4, 5, & 6
