Gymnastics

This is a non-competitive, introductory class for younger athletes. This class will teach the cheerleading basics and build confidence, strength, coordination and flexibility. Jumps, hand motions, tumbling, stunting and a cheer will be taught, as well as the importance of teamwork. Clean gym shoes must be worn in this class and hair must be tied back neatly out of face. No jewelry allowed for safety reasons.

Is your toddler climbing on everything they can reach and never seem to be out of energy? This is a parent participatory class where our instructors will guide you and your child through introductory gymnastics skills each week using small bars, floor beams, tiny springboards, an array of skill blocks and octagons as well as our inflatable air trak. They will develop their balance, gross motor skills, hand, foot & eye coordination, as well as increase their strength, flexibility, social skills, and confidence.

The exciting world of gymnastics: where their energy will be transformed into tons of fun on vault, bars, beam and floor. Confidence is a major focus as we guide students to achieve their greatest individual potential. Development of strength, balance, coordination and flexibility are built into every lesson. Preschool One is for children who are new to gymnastics and is commonly repeated. Please make sure that children are potty-trained and out of diapers. Parents must stay in the lobby during the entire class for emergency or bathroom purposes.

This class for children who have leveled out of Preschool One and have been recommended from the coach. This class will build on the skills with more focus on technique, form, and muscle control. Development of strength, balance, coordination and flexibility are built into every lesson. Please make sure that children are potty-trained and out of diapers. Parents must stay in the lobby during the entire class for emergency for bathroom purposes.

Your child will develop coordination, strength, balance and confidence. Tumblers will learn the following skills: forward and backward rolls, straddle roll, lunge to handstand, cartwheel, bridges, splits and various jumps using tumbling equipment and our air trak.

This is a one-hour class designed for kindergartners who are in school all day and will follow the Developmental I format. Students will learn skills on vault, uneven bars, beam and floor in a safe and controlled atmosphere. Children will spend a small portion of class time conditioning and strengthening the appropriate muscles to help improve their gymnastics skills.

We require long hair to be tied back and out of face. No shoes, earrings, bracelets or necklaces are allowed. Socks are optional, but not recommended for beam.

MAKEUP PROCEDURE
Unfortunately due to participant safety and class ratios, all gymnastics, cheer and ninjas classes are unable to accommodate makeup classes.

Children will learn skills on vault, uneven bars, beam, and floor in a safe and controlled atmosphere. This fast-paced class develops coordination, strength, flexibility, balance and self-confidence for children that are new to tumbling. Good form and positions will be taught at this level. Students will learn the following skills: forward and backward tuck and straddle rolls, lunge to handstand, cartwheel and round offs.

This class welcomes boys and girls who are the immediate and advanced tumbler and have mastered the basic foundation of tumbling and body position awareness. Conditioning will be a small part of this class to prepare each child for increased difficulty in skill level.

Is your child close to moving up but her bars are preventing her from doing that? This class will focus on the conditioning, drills and additional bar time that some gymnasts need to move to that next level. For Developmental 1-4 gymnasts and team gymnasts.

This new class is for adults who want to try something new or former gymnasts who want to challenge themselves. Improve your strength, flexibility, body awareness and master some fundamental gymnastics tumbling skills.

This class will be a transition from the developmental program to team gymnastics. The gymnasts will learn AAU level 1 and 2 skills as they develop strength, flexibility, team spirit and sportsmanship. Invitation to Pre-Team is required.

The Bolingbrook Illusions is an award-winning team that competes against other teams in the Midwest. We offer level 2-5 compulsory gymnastics and all levels of Xcel. These teams will follow routines and progressions for vault, uneven bars, beam and floor created by USAG. Competition takes place from January through May as part of the AAU; Gymnastics of Illinois Junior Organization (GIJO). It is a great way to prepare your child for high school gymnastics within the park district or at their high school. Testing is done late Spring and Early Fall and is required in order to enroll as a new member of the team.

Parents are required to attend our annual mandatory meeting. Team leotards, warm ups, grips, meet fees and tape are additional fees beyond class registration.
