Bolingbrook Recreation & Aquatic Complex is available for open pickleball play on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00-10:30 am. Please wear gym shoes. Pickleball is a sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis. Nets will be provided with limited supply of paddles and balls.
In this five week course you’ll learn the basic stitches, concepts, and components of crochet and pattern reading. We will go over all the how-tos and whatnots you need to know to wrangle this hobby. We’ll go over chain stitches, single, and half-double crochet stitches; when and how to use magic rings and slipknots; how to decipher pattern abbreviations and yarn wrapper information; and several ways to seam a square. All materials and gadgets will be supplied on the first day of class to use in class.
Reveal your inner artist by joining one or more of these ceramic workshops. Each workshop you will create a ceramic piece on bisque using various techniques and glaze products. Basic instructions will guide you through the project with options on each project. Using your vision and creativity you will customize your design and make it your own. Each workshop piece will be ready for firing that day. The piece will be ready for pickup in approximately a week. Fee will include bisque, color, instructions and firing. Over the course of three weeks, learn the basics of archery, including parts of the equipment and range, proper stance, and how to aim! Archery improves muscle tone, focus and confidence as we work on hitting the target consistently. Participants are provided with Genesis compound bows during instruction. Children and adults alike are welcome to sign up.

Learn how to canoe and then practice exploring the pond at BRAC. Fee is per canoe, which can hold 2-3 people each. All participants under 16 must have an adult guardian in their canoe. Life jackets and instruction included, please dress for the weather.
Illinois Shotokan Karate classes are a great way to spend quality time with your child, while conditioning muscles, developing coordination and improving cardiovascular fitness. Uniforms, equipment and belt testings are optional for an additional fee through the class instructor. Please note that the Youth, Parent-Child and Adult classes may train together. Modern Arnis is a weapon based Filipino martial art style founded by Grandmaster Remy Presas. Modern Arnis emphasizes the use of sticks, knives and empty hand techniques. It also incorporates other martial arts such as Small-Circle Jujitsu to create a unique self-defense system based on body mechanics, fluidity, and functionality. New–Tae Kwon Do program instructed by Grandmaster H. Thomas Cameron. He is an 8th degree black belt with 47 years of experience. He was inducted into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame as the 2018 Grandmaster of the year and has recently been included in the book The Worlds Greatest Living Martial Artists. Students will learn self-defense as well as improving each students self-confidence, discipline, coordination, physical and mental capabilities. Testing fee is $60 and includes the belt and materials. Please wear athletic clothes, no jeans.

Grab your buddies and form a team for the Summer Men’s Adult Basketball League. Teams will participate in an 8-game regular season followed by a single elimination playoff. There are two different divisions that teams can compete in, the Competitive or Recreational divisions. Numbered jerseys are required but not provided. Games will be 7 vs 7 on a 40 x 70 yard field with the 12ft x 6ft goals. Teams will play an 8-game season, followed by single elimination playoffs.

This new class is for adults who want to try something new or former gymnasts who want to challenge themselves. Improve your strength, flexibility, body awareness and master some fundamental gymnastics tumbling skills.
It’s never too late to learn to be graceful. Improve your flexibility, poise and posture. Relieve stress, burn calories and have fun at the same time through this peaceful and relaxing dance style. Beginning and continuing levels of dance will be taught during this class and will include a technical warm up, barre work and center work with combinations, all specific and appropriate to the level of training.

In five week sessions, learn and practice the basic techniques of one of the most popular dances, Chicago-Style Stepping. It’s a great, feel-good work out, and a chance to have fun at the same time. Basic steps and combinations, floor etiquette, turns and partnering will be covered in this 2-hour class in a festive atmosphere. This is the perfect way to get ready for those high school reunions and weddings or simply build your confidence on the dance floor. Best of all it’s a chance to just enjoy a fun time with others.
Are you ready to take the next step in your ballet training? In Pre-Pointe you will do exercises and training to prepare yourself to go onto pointe.
Previous ballet experience and enrollment in our Adult Ballet class is required to participate in this class.

Stretch and become more limber as your body develops the tools that it needs to become stronger. This is a way to correctly learn how to train your body to become pliable safely. Learn to relax, breathe correctly, and enjoy your time in class. In this one hour of active stretching you will burn between 240-356 calories. You will go through a series of floor and dance barre stretches to assist you in reaching any goals you may have.
Attire: Comfortable workout clothing, gym shoes, and please bring a yoga mat.
Contemporary dance is an upbeat style of dance that involves aspects of movement from several different genres such as jazz, modern, and ballet. During this class express yourself through music, movement, and emotions. We will focus on how the body moves through space, musical exploration, and directional focus.
Attire: workout attire, dance attire, or a combination of both. Socks, lyrical shoes, or barefoot.
The Latin program offers a great opportunity to grasp different Latin rhythms and music and have room to grow with no limits. We offer a set of dances in this beginners’ course which include bachata and salsa which are the two most popular and danced social Latin dances! Salsa will allow you to move through your body to fun up pace Latin music while bachata brings a much slower romantic vibe into the setting where you and your partner can learn to feel each other and move with flow. There are plenty of opportunities to use these skills as Chicago is known to have some of the biggest Latin dance bars and clubs. This is a perfect program for a date night and for couples to have a hobby to grow with each other and have a blast!
All levels welcome. There is no partner required.
Attire: comfortable clothing that you can move around in and socks, comfortable footwear, or dance shoes
If you are looking for more individual attention but still want your child in a group setting, semi-private lessons may be a perfect option. Each class consists of one certified swim instructor and 2 swimmers of similar swimming ability. Swim School and Stroke School participants are welcome!
With a 1:1 student to instructor ratio, lessons are individualized for each participant. Exercise, learn new techniques, or learn the strokes necessary for quality swimming.
