Bolingbrook Park District Seeks Community Feedback for Playground Design

The Bolingbrook Park District is seeking design input from residents on five new playgrounds that are slated to be completed in 2019.  The first of two community input sessions will be Saturday, February 9 from 11:00-1:00 pm at the Annerino Community Center during Winterfest.  The park district has been working with a playground design team to bring interactive elements to the sessions to help people share their ideas and interests.

“Not only are we excited to be building new playgrounds for our community, but we’re looking forward to getting our residents feedback and provide them with something they will enjoy for many years,” said executive director, Ron Oestreich.  “We believe community input is important and hope we see a lot of residents at these sessions.”

The five playgrounds slated to be completed in 2019 are:

  • Remington Lakes Sports Complex (811 W. Remington Blvd.)
  • Lily Cache Greenway (Along Lily Cache Creek, West of Orchard Dr.)
  • Poplar Park (870 Poplar Ln.)
  • Heritage Park (702 Paxson Dr.)
  • Jaycee Park (550 Lily Cache Ln.)

The second session will be on Tuesday, February 19 and will include a more definitive plan for each of the five initial playgrounds, based on the input received.   A target date of March 1 has been set to complete research and begin final design of the playgrounds.
