BPD DanceForce Company Earns Unique Honor

Bolingbrook Park District (BPD) DanceForce Company attended the Kid’s Artistic Revue dance competition in Chicago, IL on February 25 and was recognized as the “Studio of Excellence Award” winner.  This award is given out to the studio that best exemplifies the standards set by the Association of Dance Conventions & Competition (ADCC). 

BPD DanceForce Company sent 28 competitive pieces to compete at the Kid’s Artistic Revue, with styles ranging from Jazz and Contemporary, to Hip-Hop and Tap.  Many dancers scored well, but the dance company was recognized as a whole for its efforts primarily off the stage.  The award goes beyond recognizing dancers who show extraordinary talent on stage, but is awarded to the dance company that exemplifies respect, honor, good sportsmanship, and shows a promise to grow the dance industry.

Parents and staff of BPD DanceForce Company were noticed backstage helping others, being kind and having an overall pleasant presence within the chaos of 1,000+ performers, professionals and audience members that make up a competition.  For their efforts, they were recognized as the “Studio of Excellence.”

The “Studio of Excellence Award” is awarded at an ADCC member competition and given to a studio of their choice that best exemplifies the values of the ADCC, which including working together and striving for excellence.

As newly-minted members of the ADCC, BPD DanceForce Company will be able to utilize their membership to continue to build on the values that earned them the award and help grow the dance industry in a positive way.

The Association of Dance Conventions and Competitions is a national nonprofit trade association for the dance competition industry governed by an 11-member Board of Directors and managed by Blue Sky Thinking, LLC, based in Sarasota, Florida. Members include Dance Conventions and Competitions, Dance Studios, Judges, Professional Dancers and Dance Vendors.
