Spring Break Activities & Week of the Young Child

During the week of Spring Break, Bolingbrook Park District will host a multitude of events for kids to attend during their week off of school.  At Hidden Oaks Nature Center, the Nature Spring Break Camp will run from 9:00 am-3:00 pm and will only cost $30 per day.  At Pelican Harbor Indoor Aquatic Park, kids can enjoy another edition of Wacky Water Week, with this year's theme of "Under the Sea."  For the Lego enthusiast, there will be a Lego Robotics and Lego Explorers Camp starting Monday, April 6 through Friday April 10 from 9:00 am-2:00 pm.

In addition to the camps, the Cheer & Gymnastics staff will be hosting FREE Gymnastics Demo Days at the Annerino Community Center where future gymnasts and cheerleaders can try-out Cheer and Tumbling classes.  Cheer Demo Days are Tuesday, April 7 and Thursday April 9 from 5:00-6:00 pm and Tumbling Demo Days are Monday, April 6 and Wednesday, April 8 from 5:00-6:00 pm. 

Both Annerino Community Center (ACC) and Bolingbrook Recreation & Aquatic Complex (BRAC) will have Open Gym times. ACC times are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00-5:00 pm.  Monday is reserved for High School/Adults and Tuesday/Thursday is for Grades 5-8.  At BRAC, open gym times are:

  • Monday from 3:00-5:00 pm for Grades 5-8
  • Wednesday from 8:00-11:00 am for adults, Thursday from 3:00-5:00 pm for High School/Adults
  • Friday's time slots are 8:00-11:00 am for adults and from 3:00-5:00 pm will be split gym for High School/adults and Grades 5-8.

Drop-in rate is $3 and is on a first-come, first serve basis and school or valid state ID is required for ages 18 and younger.

Join us as we celebrate children and their families! As part of our Family Fun Series, presented in partnership with Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital, we celebrate the Week of the Young Child April 19-24.This week-long, FREE event has lots of exciting and fun activities for the whole family.  This year's festivities kick off Sunday, April 19 with our "Tons of Trucks" event in the north parking lot at the Bolingbrook Recreation & Aquatic Complex (BRAC). Other events throughout the week include:

  • Dance Performance by Danceforce
  • Cheer & Gymnastics Performance
  • Open House Family Bingo
  • Dave's Traveling Reptile World (co-sponsored by Fountaindale Public Library)

  • Nature Crafts & S'mores
  • Ice Cream Social & Activity night (co-sponsored by Culver's of Bolingbrook)
  • Free Demo Classes

This year, we are working with Almost Home Kids, which provides transitional care in a home-like setting to children with complicated health needs, training for their families and respite care.
