Join Chicagoland’s
fastest growing swim team, the Bolingbrook Lightning
Bolts, 2000-2001 Conference Champions! A member
of the South Suburban Swim Conference,the summer
swim program promotes an atmosphere of healthy competition
for advanced swimmers in an organized environment.
Swimmers of all ages participate in respective age
and ability levels, competing against their own
previous lap times and equally ranked swimmers.
Age groups for competition are divided into five
categories: 8 years and under; 9 and 10 years; 11
and 12 years; 13 and 14 years; and 15 to 18 years.
Minimum skills required are freestyle with rotary
breathing for a distance of 25 yards and backstroke
with arm opposition for a distance of 25 yards—both
without touching the pool bottom or lane lines.Our
season begins May 6 and ends mid-July,with practice
sessions on weekday afternoons until school ends
and thereafter on weekday mornings for 1 to 1 1/2
hours depending on skill level. There will be approximately
ten swim meets throughout the season, occurring
on weeknights and Saturday/Sunday mornings. Our
parents play an important part in the success of
our swimmers and, therefore, assist with meets and
other activities throughout the season. Note: The
Swim Team reserves the right to limit the number
of participants.
