CHARACTER-WEAR
The Bolingbrook Park District dance program offers a cool and trendy line of clothing for boys/girls & men/women. Character Wear was created to provide clothing with positive messages and designs at affordable prices, and they are great to workout in. Character Wear is available at all dance events and specific days/times during the week. For more information, call Chris Buerger at
(630) 362-8997.
Teacher information sheets are available at the front desks of the
Annerino Community Center and Bolingbrook Recreation &
Aquatic Complex. The information sheets provide a description of the professional training and background of each instructor on staff.
The Bolingbrook Park District dance program remains a step ahead, improving the quality and professionalism of our program by providing participants with a class syllabus. The syllabus details the content of the class they will take and outlines what skills will be taught. This provides both the participant and family with valuable information pertinent to their overall training.
AWARDS & RECOGNITION
For six consecutive years the Junior, Teen and Senior Danceforce Jamm Teams have taken top honors in national dance competition: Honolulu, Hawaii in 2003, and Chicago, Illinois in 2004 through 2007. Cash awards have exceeded $3500 with numerous first place awards and highest overall scores.
Over 40 Danceforce members have won convention scholarships in the past six years. One dancer, Joe Fields, was recently selected out of over 3500 dancers from across the nation as the Urban Jamm Well-Rounded Dancer for the 2006 convention season. This award is presented to the dancer who stands out among all of the dancers attending the entire season of conventions in all areas and styles of dance, and is considered the most likely to "make it" in the professional dance industry.
In 2004, the Bolingbrook Park District Danceforce and Power Dance Project received the Outstanding Program Award from the Illinois Park and Recreation Association. Only one Outstanding Program Award is granted per population category (five categories).
