SPECIAL RECREATION FAQ

What is JBSRA?
Joliet-Bolingbrook Special Recreation Association is a cooperative extension of the Bolingbrook Park District. JBSRA provides year-round recreation programs and support services for individuals with disabilities.

Who can participate in JBSRA programs?
Any individuals with disabilities or special needs

How can my organization learn more about JBSRA programs or services?
A JBSRA staff member is available to speak to parents, teachers, or other community organizations about JBSRA's programs and services. Please call 630-739-1124 for an appointment or email jzamsky@bolignbrookparks.org.

Why are we paying for programs?
In order to continue to provide the wide range of activities and recreation programs, fees are necessary.

Tax revenues represent only about half the District's total budget. Much of this pays for the acquisition, development and improvements of parks and facilities, as well as general admission.

The participant or user generally covers the direct cost of a program; salaries, supplies, building use, rental fees, contractual obligation and publicity. Often it means better service, instructors, facilities and equipment.
