Joliet Bolingbrook Special Recreation Association is a cooperative extension of the Bolingbrook Park District, Joliet Park District, and Plainfield Park District that provides year-round recreation programs for individuals with disabilities.
INCLUSION
JBSRA provides inclusion services for individuals who wish to participate in general recreation programs. An individual with a disability can have a beneficial and rewarding experience by participating with their peers without a disability. JBSRA can provide support to an inclusive experience by training staff, adapting activities, working with behavioral modifications and providing support staff.
Each individual needs to be aware of a few simple guidelines prior to an inclusive experience. When registering, make sure to indicate on the registration form that you need accommodations. Be aware of and able to follow the rules of conduct for the program, with or without accommodations. Be willing to participate in the scheduled activities. JBSRA works cooperatively with you and the Park District to provide reasonable accommodations. Call Jill Mukushina, Therapeutic Recreation Supervisor, at (630) 739-1124 to discuss accommodations for participation.
PRESENTATIONS
